When you lose someone special, your world can lack its celebratory qualities. Holidays magnify that loss. The sadness deepens and the loneliness can feel isolating. The need for support may be the greatest during the holidays.

Pretending you don’t hurt and/or it isn’t a harder time of the year is just not the truth for you. But you can – and will – get through the holidays. Rather than avoiding the feelings of grief, lean into them. It is not the grief you want to avoid, it is the pain.

No one can take that pain away, but grief is not just pain, grief is love.

Remember…Be sensitive to those around you that are experiencing grief. Reach out to them, show them that you care and be in prayer for them.

Here is the latest idea from the Hewitt Foundation…It’s called….”Ding Ding Ditching Christmas”.

Our point of this project is to bring a surprise to the doors of several families in the community.

Let’s face it, 2020 has brought challenges with jobs, school, families not being able to see each other and toilet paper shortage!

We feel our community needs a “surprise blessing”…you know…something that will bring a spark of joy and happiness.

We are constantly keeping our ear to the ground for families that have had an unforeseen circumstance occur. Maybe a patent has recently lost their job, maybe a family member is going through medical treatment of some kind, maybe a family feels alone right now with the factors of 2020, or maybe a family just needs something to brighten their day because it’s been one of those weeks.

So here is what is included in bag-
– Candy canes for a candy cane hunt for the family to do in house or yard.
– A ticket to see the lights at Saluda Shoals Park drive thru.
– And a few other surprises!

60 bags will be delivered this weekend to families in our community. There will be a handwritten letter attached to each one expressing a heartfelt message of encouragement and hope.

We are excited to spread the love of Jesus through Ding Dong Ditching this Christmas!!! 🌲

Can’t wait to see how God uses this!

Setting up the 4th annual “Joy of Giving” at Boundary St Elementary looked a little different this year due to Covid-19 restrictions but we are thankful we are still able to do it.

Typically the volunteers for the Hewitt Foundation assist the students as they enter the gym and help them select their gifts for their parent/guardian. Since that can’t be done this year the teachers are filling in the gaps and doing it on our behalf. Tables are set up on each hallway and the teachers from each class will help their students shop and gift wrap their items.

The entire staff at Boundary St is going above and beyond to make sure these students don’t miss out on this opportunity to select a gift for their parent/guardian.

Because of their amazing efforts, the Hewitt Foundation provided a box lunch for EVERY TEACHER to say THANK YOU and to let them know we appreciate them so much!

We are so blessed to be able to do this every year with Boundary St Elementary. ❤️🎁🎄

Blessed with the opportunity to host this year’s HowToLife in Chapin.

Over 70 students from the community came out to be a part of this special time of worship and fellowship. The first 50 of those students in attendance were able to receive a FREE devotional from the Hewitt Foundation called, Simple Pursuit. Simple Pursuit was built on the declaration from Isaiah 26:8: “Yes Lord, walking in the way of your truth, we wait eagerly for you; for your name and your renown are the desire of our souls.” Through each day’s Scripture, reflection, and prayer, students will begin to see the big story Jesus is writing for their life and the great opportunity they have to be a part of something bigger than themselves—building His kingdom!

God is on the move within our area!!!

Join us in praying for Generation Z to continue growing closer to Jesus and making Him known to their circle of influence.
