Easter Service was a success! 300 people were in attendance for worship!

Thankful for Crossroads Chapin and their partnership to make this happen for our community.

2020 YEAR END REVIEW & HEWITT 5K SPONSORSHIP

Since 2015, the Hewitt Foundation’s purpose has been to put God’s love into action by investing in community projects and improving the lives of families in need. The Hewitt Foundation educates the general public about community service needs, encourages increased civic participation in meeting those needs, and promotes policies designed to improve the lives of community members, all in memory of Parker and Haley Hewitt.

The Hewitt Foundation continues to serve our community in this capacity despite the difficult challenges and obstacles 2020 brought with it.

Thank you for investing in our ministry. We are grateful to have you partner and support us in this journey.

MINISTRY PROJECTS

HEWITT 5K

The 8th annual Hewitt 5K, in memory of Parker and Haley Hewitt, was a HUGE success even with it being VIRTUAL for 2020! We had 400 registered for the 8th year and we had great participation of registrants sharing photos on social media as they walked/ran/supported virtually!

In addition, the Hewitt Foundation had tremendous support from 36 local business sponsors for the Hewitt 5K. Because of these sponsors we were able to raise over $13,000. These funds will allow the Hewitt Foundation to participate in future projects within the community to share God’s love with others in memory of Parker and Haley Hewitt. We have already met with key leaders in the community to discuss ways we can impact others for His kingdom. We are really excited about what’s to come!

CAN-A-PALOOZA WORSHIP NIGHT

Over 100 people in attendance for the 4th annual Can-A-Palooza worship night.

The community donated 1600 canned goods for the event and the Hewitt Foundation supplied a 1000 canned goods!

All canned goods were donated to Sharing God’s Love in Irmo where they will distribute them to families in need.

PASSION CONFERENCE

This was the 7th year leading a group of young adults to Passion.

The Hewitt Foundation was given access to have up to 10 young adults attend IN PERSON for the event. This was such an honor to be included in the “in person” group due to large gathering being canceled earlier this year!

We were able to send 7 young adults and one leader this year to Passion 2021. While that’s not our typical group of 55, we will take what we are able to get given the circumstances of the pandemic.

What better way to invest in our young adults then providing them an opportunity to grow spiritually in their walk with Jesus.

CARE BASKETS

Over 40 care baskets were distributed to those within the community who needed the support. Many recipients have experienced grief, incurred an unforeseen family circumstance or are dealing with a difficult medical need.

JOY OF GIVING

Setting up the 4th annual “Joy of Giving” at Boundary St Elementary looked a little different this year due to Covid-19 restrictions but we are thankful we are still able to do it. Instead of our traditional setup in the school gymnasium, we had to get creative and setup tables in the hallways for the students to select their gifts for their parent/guardian.

The entire staff at Boundary St went above and beyond to make sure these students didn’t miss out on the special opportunity. Because of the staff’s amazing efforts, the Hewitt Foundation provided a box lunch for EVERY TEACHER to say THANK YOU and to let them know we appreciate them so much!

CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

The Hewitt Foundation was able to provide 100 bibles and 150 dolls to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital for Child Life to distribute to those within their care.

FCA MEETINGS

The Hewitt Foundation provided drinks and snacks for several Northern Midlands FCA Meetings. Praying for the youth in our community to be on fire for Jesus and to lead by example with being bold in their faith.

HOW TO LIFE MOVEMENT

The Hewitt Foundation hosted the HowToLife Movement event and over 70 students from the community came out to be a part of this special time of worship and fellowship.

The first 50 of those students in attendance were able to receive a FREE devotional from the Hewitt Foundation called, Simple Pursuit. Simple Pursuit was built on the declaration from Isaiah 26:8: “Yes Lord, walking in the way of your truth, we wait eagerly for you; for your name and your renown are the desire of our souls.” Through each day’s Scripture, reflection, and prayer, students will begin to see the big story Jesus is writing for their life and the great opportunity they have to be a part of something bigger than themselves—building His kingdom!

HEWITT PAVILION

New signage and landscaping was added to the Hewitt Pavilion at Chapin Baptist Church. This was the very first project completed by the Hewitt Foundation and is heavily used by the community for many different events throughout the year.

TEACHER ENCOURAGEMENT

The 2020-2021 school year looked completely different this past year due to the impacts of COVID-19. With that in mind, the Hewitt Foundation wanted a simple way to encourage the teachers and staff in our area that dealt with these new and challenging circumstances within our schools.

Nine schools were impacted by this simple encouragement project and over 1000 homemade and hand decorated cookies were delivered.

RESURRECTION EGGS & EASTER BASKETS

With Easter 2020 not spent inside of churches due to Covid-19 the Hewitt Foundation wanted to do something for families to be able to share the story of Jesus with each other. Within that in mind, Easter Resurrection Egg sets were given away to 40 families in our community.

Over 130 Easter baskets were delivered to We Care in Chapin so they could distribute them to children in need within the community.

CHRISTMAS BASKETS

Over 100 Christmas baskets were prepared and delivered to Sharing God’s Love in Irmo. These Christmas baskets provided 100 families with an intentional moment together during the holiday season as they journey through advent.

CHRISTMAS CD’S & CANDY CANES

Delivered Christmas CDs to the Lowman Home residents and handed out simple reminders to the residents of Harbor Chase of Columbia.

DING DONG DITCH

Our point of this project was to bring a “surprise blessing” to the doors of several families in the community.

Each bag included:
– Candy canes for a candy cane hunt for the family to do in house or yard.
– A ticket to see the lights at Saluda Shoals Park drive thru.
– And a few other surprises!

Over 60 bags were delivered to families in our community and a handwritten letter was attached to each one expressing a heartfelt message of encouragement and hope.

SOLE4SOULS

The Hewitt Foundation collected over 330 gently used shoes to donate to a local family who was collecting them in memory of their loved one who went to heaven in 2018.

To see more details about these amazing projects mentioned above, as well as other projects from previous years, please check out the Hewitt Foundation blog at www.hewittfoundation.com or click on the photos within this email.

As you can see, we were blessed greatly in 2020 with tremendous support from 35 business sponsorships from the community raising $13,000. Many of you reading this email are a part of that amazing support group.

We have worked extremely hard to share the love of Jesus through these projects and be a shining light within the community for His kingdom. Projects like these could not have been done without involvement and financial support from our Hewitt 5K sponsors.

This year we have made it even easier to become a sponsor for the 9th annual Hewitt 5K on 6/26/21 at Saluda Shoals Park in Columbia.

Follow this link: https://www.hewittfoundation.com/hewitt-foundation-9th-annual-hewitt-5k-sponsorship/ (or click the pink button below) and complete your online sponsorship form. You’ll be able to use a credit card for your sponsorship donation or you can mail in a check if you prefer.

It’s that simple! All we ask is that you consider completing the online sponsorship form by June 1st, 2021.

We thank you in advance for your financial support through sponsorships. We look forward to hearing from you soon and eagerly await your participation for the 9th annual Hewitt 5K. If you have any questions about the upcoming event or potential “virtual race”, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Sincerely,

Craig and Crystal Hewitt

As you can see, we were blessed greatly in 2020 by many families and friends from the community who supported the Hewitt Foundation financially.

We have worked extremely hard to share the love of Jesus through these projects and be a shining light within the community for His kingdom. Projects like these could not have been done without involvement and financial support from people like YOU

For 2021, we want more of the community to journey alongside the Hewitt Foundation and support our ministry efforts of sharing God’s love with others.

Our goal is to find 21 families or individuals that would pledge to donate $21 a month for the remaining of 2021.

That’s less than 75 cents a day to support the Hewitt Foundation as we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

All donations are tax deductible and our EIN # is 47-3638459.

Our prayer is for others to see the impact they can have within our community by supporting the Hewitt Foundation as we continue to share Jesus through service projects.

Follow this link to begin the process of supporting the Hewitt Foundation for $21 a month for 2021:

If you feel lead to share our ministry with your church, your co-workers, your bible study, your workout group…GO FOR IT! The more the better…Help us raise awareness about the Hewitt Foundation and how others can become a supporter JUST LIKE YOU!

We thank you in advance for your financial support for the Hewitt Foundation.

It truly means more than you will ever know.

Sincerely,

Craig and Crystal Hewitt

Delivered 100 Easter baskets to We Care in Chapin!

As the children receive these Easter gifts this year, our prayer is that they will use the included children’s bible to learn about god’s love for them and the hope that He brings.

Will you join us in that prayer?
