The Hewitt Foundation partnered with the community and Midtown Fellowship Church to provide 50 costumes for an event held every January at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. This event is a red carpet event for the children being treated in the hospital. The children are able to come downstairs from their room, select a costume to dress up in and enjoy lots of dancing, laughing and smiling. This event allows the children to take their mind off of any treatment or any sickness they are going through and just have a night where they’re treated like a superhero or princess.

The 2nd Can-A-Palooza was incredible! The event was an acoustic worship night outdoors and everyone that was attending was asked to bring canned goods to help stock the pantry of We Care in Chapin. There were 150 people in attendance and we raised 780 pounds of food for We Care! Looking forward to this event taking place again next year on 10/5/19. Mark your calendar now!

Cancer is such a difficult word to hear. However, God provides the strength and courage to deal with unknowns that come in this life, including cancer. This basket was provided for a sweet lady that went through breast cancer. Thankful for our God that can comfort and heal.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity. She laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 3:25

Care baskets are to simply say we care and are praying.

We aren’t meant to go through things alone, so thankful we don’t have to.

Zoe is a miracle, a fighter. She was diagnosed with cancer years ago.

However, Zoe has taken this sickness and treatment and brought good from it. Zoe has been cancer free for years and for her 8th birthday this year she requested everyone donate pillow cases for her to give to Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. These pillow cases would make the room more personalized to the kids that have to visit or stay.

The Hewitt Foundation was able to come along side Zoe and donate over 180 pillow cases for her to give with her own collection of pillow cases. It makes a world of difference having a something special, like a pillow case, to personalize a child’s hospital room.

So proud of Zoe continuing to shine! Join us in continuing to pray for sweet Zoe to stay healthy and strong!
