Fear is a natural reaction to being diagnosed with an illness or to watching a loved one face an uphill health battle…but the Bible reminds us that Jesus heals. Biblical accounts of healings should give us confidence that, while God’s will and plan will triumph, overcoming health battles is absolutely possible. Luke 8: 50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, ‘Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.

We are all going to lose the people we love. While this inevitability is easy enough to understand on a logical level, it is something much different when one is forced to go through it. The pain, confusion, and loss we feel cannot be measured. The road map of grief is never ending this side of heaven…

The Hewitt Foundation provided 35 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches for Dutch Fork’s FCA meeting and had Hewitt Foundation President, Craig Hewitt, as a guest speaker. Great day spent at the home of the Silver Foxes talking about pain and how it comes in all shapes and sizes. How it usually shows up when things are going well, is never predictable and always unavoidable. It’s all about how we respond to our pain and if we use it to glorify His kingdom.  Every student was given a WWJD (What would Jesus do?) bracelet and challenged to wear their bracelet everyday and anytime pain comes into their life allow the bracelet to remind themselves “what would Jesus want them to do” when responding to their current circumstance. How would He want them to react? God will use our pain to help free others out of their pain. All we have to do is be willing to follow Jesus and allow Him to work through our life.
