Partnering with Lake Murray Presbyterian Church and their WOW service to create “Blessing Bags” for the homeless who attend the Oliver Gospel Mission. Over 70 “Blessing Bags” were created and each bag had: a winter hat and glove, tooth brush and toothpaste, chapstick, socks, granola bars, a water bottle, a book and a handwritten letter for the person who will receive it. May this small offering bring each recipient the love and hope found in Jesus. Each bag has been prayed over by the hands that prepared them. In addition, co-founder of the Hewitt Foundation, Crystal Hewitt, shared a powerful message of building our foundation on Jesus. He is our rock through the storms and trials we face in life.

Thanks to all of those who helped make this project a success. God is good!

Great time spent at Boundary Street Elementary for the annual “Joy of Giving”. For the 3rd year, we have transformed their multipurpose area into a “Christmas store” for every child at the school to shop for a gift to give their parent/guardian. It’s amazing to see the smiles on each child’s face as they search for the perfect gift to surprise their parent/guardian with for Christmas. Learning how to give is a great way to serve others.

Special thanks to our amazing friends at Chickenbutt Donuts for supplying donuts for the entire school of 500+ students and staff. Y’all are INCREDIBLE!

To do list: Prepare 60 Christmas Bags for Sharing God’s Love in Irmo that are filled with items to create a family memory together.

The busyness of the holidays can be crazy and overwhelming. This special Christmas bag will allow families the opportunity to be intentional with spending time together and share the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus.

We even had time to read the book, “The Story of Christmas” to all of the kids who helped out with the project. Because we had so many good listeners during the reading time, everyone got hot chocolate and ginger bread cookies served to them. What a wonderful way to serve the community around us and teach our children how to love like Jesus.

Sharing the message of “finding purpose through your pain” with Spring Hill FCA. James 1:2-3 says “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” Through this life we will face many challenges and difficult situations. Our response to these circumstances needs to be through the eyes of the Lord. Having eternal perspective  vs worldly perspective is critical. As we live this life forward we will understand it backwards and see how God has moved in our favor when we are obedient to His calling on our life.

The enemy will try and use our pain to crush us…but what if instead of the pain destroying us, it was used to develop us? That is our prayer for these students at Spring Hill FCA. That they will cling to Jesus during the challenging times and be able to respond with joy as they persevere. Each student was given a WWJD bracelet to remind them (What would Jesus Do?) in their circumstances. May they wear them proudly as a constant reminder of Jesus.

Also…Shoutout to our friends at Chickfila Ballentine for suppling the students with coupons to come enjoy a FREE TREAT soon. Nothing beats Chickfila! 🐔
