Easter Resurrection Egg sets were given away to the first 40 families who came by our display in Chapin to pick them up. Since Easter will not be spent inside of churches this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hewitt Foundation wanted to do something for families to be able to share the story of Jesus with each other.

Resurrection Eggs offer children a wonderful hands-on resource to learn about Jesus’ Resurrection Story. How it works: Every egg has a particular scripture reading that gives a detailed explanation of that part of the Easter story. After the reading, your child opens up the applicable Resurrection Egg. Each egg contains a token/symbol which represents that particular part of the Easter story. Kids will learn about people’s sinfulness, Jesus’ greatness, and God’s loving forgiveness.

With the current state of COVID-19 in America, the Hewitt Foundation took all precautions necessary to ensure this project site was safe for our community to come by and pick up on their own. Anyone feeling symptoms of COVID-19 were asked to not partake in visiting of this pickup site and remain at home.

Providing care during someone’s journey through grief is critical. Grief is never ending this side of heaven ad as believers we are called to love others like Jesus. Be sure to check in on your friends and family that have experienced grief…no matter how much time as gone by…showing you remember, means more than you realize.

SONGS OF WORSHIP

As Americans nationwide self-quarantine and avoid gatherings of more than 10 people, as the Trump administration has advised to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, The Hewitt Foundation put together a list of inspiring songs to listen to that will lift your spirits.

Here are bits and pieces of the lyrics you’ll hear in the songs below:

  • My God is over all
  • May His presence go before you
  • Even when I don’t see it, You’re working
  • This will be my posture…laying at Your feet
  • I’ve seen You move, You move the mountains
  • You take what the enemy meant for evil and You turn it for good
  • Our God reigns
  • Come awaken Your people, come awaken this city
  • Fear cannot survive when we praise You
  • Jesus will You meet me here…let Your peace wash over me
  • There is power when we worship
  • I’m learning to trust You, even when I can’t see it…even in suffering
  • When I’m in the valley I will fear no evil
  • My fear doesn’t stand a chance when I stand in Your love
  • I cast my cares at Your feet
  • In Your presence is where I belong
  • And all the nations come, crying out together that Jesus is the Lord, and He reigns forever
  • Your love will never change
  • Your name cannot be overcome
  • The Great I am

WOW! So much truth in these powerful words! Let these words be a part of our constant prayer over our family, our neighbors, our nation and our world. I believe this time will be a time of awakening in the church. Revival is coming! Our God is sovereign!
