The 8th annual Hewitt 5K, in memory of Parker and Haley Hewitt, was a HUGE success even with it being VIRTUAL for this year! We had 400 registered for the 8th year and we had great participation of registrants sharing photos on social media as they walked/ran/supported virtually! Because of these sponsors we were able to raise over $13,000. These funds will allow the Hewitt Foundation to participate in future projects within the community to share God’s love with others in memory of Parker and Haley Hewitt. We have already met with key leaders in the community to discuss ways we can impact others for His kingdom. We are really excited about what’s to come!

We will soon have EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION for 2021! Never too early to plan for the Hewitt 5K! Mark your calendars now for June 26th, 2021!

Meet Claire Thompson, the new Secretary for the Hewitt Foundation Board!

Claire has been married to her wonderful husband, Stuart, for 52 years. She has a three children who are married and each couple has two children giving her 6 grandchildren – two boys and two girls.  She attended the University of South Carolina and majored in Education. She received a Master of Education degree.

One way to be sensitive to the needs of people is by being observant. There are some people who are too shy to ask for help, but if you are just observant you will know they actually need it.

We cannot escape the tragedies that arise in our lives. We can search for a reason and ask – why? ⁣

Maybe we could hold others at fault or imagine what life would be had this not happened, but perhaps what defines our character is not our struggles but how well we meet them and rise up after getting knocked down. ⁣

Faith will overcome fears, doubts and insecurities. Sometimes in life we don’t recognize how strong we actually are until we are faced with a great tragedy in our life. This calamity we face today will help develop the strength and fortitude we need for tomorrow. ⁣

Losing everything we own is sad, but the things we own to not diminish who we are inside. Sometimes the worst situation brings out the best in us and others.

There is something so simple about delivering a plant to someone who needs it.

We are all facing different battles….from grief, to sickness, to relationships, to finances, to work…and the list goes on and on…

Reaching out to those who are experiencing these types of struggles is important.

Do you part when you can…be intentional with others…they have been placed in your path for a reason.
